Half-Marathon training, with pain on outside of foot/ankle, should I run through?
I have been training for a half marathon (that is about 12 weeks away) and I stepped down on my foot the night before last, and felt a little pop on the outside of my foot just below the ankle toward my toes. Now if I walk off of the ball of my foot, it continuously pops, and hurts pretty badly. I took a rest day yesterday just to stay off of it, but it's still painful today when I'm up and around. I don't want to go to the hospital, because I'm not sure it's necessary, and my doctor is backed up for a month and won't be able to see me until after it probably begins to heal. I plan on wrapping it, taping it, and lacing my shoes up tight and trying to run anyway.
Has anyone had this issue before, and if so… how did you deal with it?
